Children & Youth Grief
Support Groups:
Children's Grief Group
"Adventure in the Land of Grief" uses
play, games, drama and imagination to help children learn the concepts
of grief, recognize and understand their own feelings about the death
of their loved one and ultimately begin to heal from their loss.
During the sessions, the children take an imaginary "journey" and
encounter characters and bodies of land, water and nature that
symbolize the distinct aspects of the grief process.
"Adventure in the Land of Grief" is for
any child age 6 - 12 who has experienced the death of someone they
love. The group consists of five sessions.
Offered several times a year
Teen Grief Group
A support group for teens age 13 - 18 that
allows participants to express their grief through a variety of
activities including drawing, journaling, story-telling, listening to
music and playing games. The curriculum also provides
opportunity for death education and learning coping and self-care
techniques. Participants will benefit from meeting and sharing
their story with other teens who have experienced loss.
Offered several times a year
